well, today we pretty much finished our ensemble pieces and it has turned out pretty good. we will find out tomorrow when we perform in front of trafalger. and here i was thinking that trafalger was a square in england somewhere…obviously not.
we have still got to learn the scripts but we will get there by the 5th for performance night…hopefully.
well i best be off, gotta go see some yr 11 solo’s… good to see how they go.

well, what a productive week we had! scripted about 4 scenes and they are all cool. we are rappers, black, white, churchies, slaves, jesus, and a turtle… well maybe not that last one but we may as well say it, we got everything! so much done in so little time… STAY AWAY CLARRY! WE ARE DOING WELL WITHOUT YOU!!! hahahaha.
onto the bad news…
this week we also got into a massive fight with the other group and also less cool group about calling the puffs names and other things. it all started on thursdays double when the corruption started. they started by saying things about how their “puffs” were better than our briefcases and then we called their “puffs” gay and cheese flipped out! we all got in a massive brawl, punches were trown, kicks were kicked and heads were butted. to settle this matter we decided to put a line through the middle of the room so we wouldnt interact. it seemed to work and now each group is happy!

well, i havnt posted something for a while so i thought id do so now coz i have a spare and im bored. yes i probably should be doing drama script or something but ill do that later.
well, this week we are scripting and doing as much as we can and make the most of clarry not being here. yesterday we did the slavery scene which worked well, aaron did the script resonably well. im the white boss yelling at the black slaves because they are playing music but still sing once i leave.
the next scene was kara’s which was the gospel scene where we are in a church and aaron, kara and kendall are praying then start singing “oh happy days” from sister act and they decided i would be jesus in the corner… i like that idea. it then moves on to them singing on tv and jesus turns into a host.
we have a fair bit of work to do over the next few weeks so we are going to knuckle down and be productive.

last nights performance was awesome!! i loved it how they went from seriousness to comedy then being serious again. i loved the little jokes they put in and every actor/actress played their part well. i took particular notice to the lighting and background used. i noticed when berenger (aka geoffery rush) was walking into heaven or was in the final stages of him dying that the light was only on him. they were the normal lights to start then it started to become brighter as if he was walking into heaven.
i liked the thought of how he cant let go of his power and seems to let go of everything else that seems to be close to him. its as if the power is the most important thing in the world to him, a bit like some leaders today.
the interaction with the audience made us feel like we were a part of the play by walking through the crowd and talking 2 feet in front of us. they also spoke to the audience which i thought was different, but in a good way.
the background was the same all the way through and i couldnt really think about what it meant, so i thought that it might be like the different wars/battles he’s been involved in and they are reminders of what he has done.
all in all it was a great performance and id go see it again. ill give it a 9/10

ive noticed as of late that every rap/r n b song you hear or see it always features someone else. most of the time they say a few lines even just a few words but they always have someone else in them. do these so called “singers” sing their own music or they cant sing and need someone else to make it sound better? i mean its good for a band/group/singer to have a featured artist in a song for something different but its not different anymore, nobody can really sing a song by themselves. its one or 2 genres now, i just hope it doesnt spread like rapid fire to other genres and defeat the purpose of singing their own music.
well thats my thoughts of the week.

well yesterday we got our props, 4 briefcases and the other group got 4 “puffs” as you may already know from the other blogs. today we started to perform using our new props. first our briefcases were transformed into laptops then into mechanisms used in an ipod which were like the artist, then the song. pretty awesome. the other group had nothing so we are clearly the better group and we are one step ahead.
i came up with a great idea the other day, aaron would agree with me…
how about a placard……….wait for it…..
ON A BRICK WALL!!! ay, ay?
well i think that these props will come in handy and we will be able to use them in multiple different way. let your ideas run wild then trap them in the briefcase!

i told clarry that id write a post tonight so here i am.
just looked up some stuff on people in music that we dont see in the songs like the managers, sound tech, groupie, roadie, etc. then tried to find info on stereotypical band members and “what they do” according to others.
well thats it from me for the time being.
“see you on the other side” - (Korn album, thought it would be a good exiting line).
so here i am downloading music i dont even like to make people happy then realize that this, in a way, could help with drama. all these stupid computerised beats make music seem easy and the songs have no point to them. what happened to the bands/artists that played instruments and sang and actually worked hard on writing music.
music is spreading rapidly and different forms of different genres are being created. it is spreading like a bushfire, next we could be hearing dogs on the radio barking with a group of people yelling going on in the background and we are gonna call that music? it may even be number 1!
 and all those bands still going from decades of playing music (the rolling stones, slayer, black sabbath, metallica etc, etc) i look up to them because they are still doing what they love doing and aren’t changing no matter what the media say about them. keep on trucking!

well, we are doing our ensembles on the stimulus ‘another brick in the wall’ by pink floyd. My thoughts to start with we this would be cool because im into alot of music and have a good general knowledge of it. when we started doing workshops after we found out the basics, i realized that there is more to this than just the music. we have to encorperate epic theatre and the setting is in a dream or fantasy.
All in all, i think ill enjoy doing this and look forward to get to work!
